Meet the Golf Professional Team at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club

The golf professionals at Jacksonville Golf & Country Club offer a wide variety of lesson opportunities for men, women, and juniors. Golf lessons are available from our PGA Professionals year-round. Much thought and effort are given to provide you with the highest quality of instruction for each level of player.

Whether you're interested in enjoying a laid-back round or a more competitive one, the golf professionals are here to help!

  • Roman O'Rourke, PGA



    • Roman O’Rourke has been a PGA Member for the last 8 years and in the golf industry for 13 years. Roman has been around the private club environment his entire life. He developed his skills as a young man at the prestigious NCR Country Club in Dayton, Ohio. He has been in leadership roles at some of the top clubs in the country including The Estancia Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, a “Top 100” facility and the #1 ranked club in Arizona according to Golf Digest; Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club; The Clubs of Cordillera Ranch; and Hammock Dunes Club.

      He is certified as a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 2 instructor. He also has certification with Golf Genius Tournament Management and Trackman University. He has a passion for golf and helping members get the most out of their game.

  • Will Perkins



    • Will Perkins, First Assistant Golf Professional, is from Ocala Florida.  Will began transitioning from a baseball player to a golfer at the age of 12. Will has an associates degree from Lake Sumter State College in Leesburg, Florida. Will transferred to Jacksonville Golf and Country Club in February of this year. He began his career over 3 years ago as an Assistant Golf Professional at Ocala Country Club which is a sister Hampton Golf Club! Will is an associate level in the PGA and is currently working towards a level 1 certification!

  • Steven Powell



    • Steven Powell, Assistant Golf Professional, is from Vero Beach FL, where he grew up playing baseball and golf. After Graduating from Flagler College with a Sport Management degree in 2012 he developed a love for sports and competition. He has 8+ years of experience as a lead instructor with First Tee, a non-profit organization providing life skills through the game of golf.  Steven has expanded his training and knowledge to become a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified Instructor working with both juniors and adults providing aid to develop an efficient swing for more performance and less injuries. He utilizes various tools including Mobility Screens, Video Swing Analysis, and statistical feedback with a launch monitor providing a comprehensive lesson experience. In addition to personal lessons to increase performance, Steven conducts game nights and group lessons where parents and children can enjoy the game together through competition and fun.

  • AJ Krakauer

    • AJ Krakauer is an Assistant Golf Professional hailing from West Linn, Oregon. He initially excelled in hockey and lacrosse during his childhood, eventually playing college lacrosse at the University of Utah. However, due to a knee injury, he transferred to Oregon State University to study business administration and aerospace engineering. Afterward, he gained golf shop experience at Trysting Tree Golf Club, the home of the Oregon State University golf team. Presently, AJ is focused on completing Level One of the PGA PGM program, as he continues to advance his career in the golf industry.
